This course is for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills.
It teaches both team and single-rescue basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students are also required to complete a written exam.
These courses can be delivered in a classroom setting or through blended learning, where the student completes an eLearning course and then attends a skills practice and testing session with an AHA Instructor.
